I don’t know if you guys consider feature requests but I thought it would be really helpful if there were a place to write beat specific notes that appear when you activate a beat.
Then I could have a list of goals or an outline for that beat that doesn’t need to be up above in the script or make the research section crowded etc. There could be a beat notes tab in the upper right where timeline and research are. Then as you click on the beat you’re working on the notes would appear under the tab.
I don’t know if this would be a major overhaul and sorry to just pop in and suggest it out of nowhere. lol

Have you considering using the Beat Synopsis field? This is exactly for goals for how a beat should be written. And when the beat is written, it serves as a summary of the beat you can read when trying to get an overview.

Ohhh. I’d seen that screen but never used it. I don’t want to sound like I’m pushing my idea but maybe there could be a tab by timeline and research that would display that screen right there. I’ll look into the synopsis screen and how to use it. If it will stay open and on top while you write and ideally have an option to switch to the active beat on its own that would be almost as good though.

You can always double-click a beat to get the beat editor where it’s on top:
And you can enable Synopsis in the script Display menu, so that the synopsis is shown directly on the beat:
