I am attempting to select many beats spanning a several blocks in a lane of my white board, so that I may toggle their visibility in the script. (Script visibility is how I check if something in working better with or without a scene or sequence, for example.)
Works fine when only a few or even all beats within a single block (or outside any block) are selected. But the multi-selection tool does not apparently work when some beats are in one block and other beats are in another block.
Alternately, I thought selecting the beats in the Research window (where it is possible to select hundreds of beats at one) might suffice, but there is no way to right click in the White Board while maintaining the selection set. And the command for toggling script visibility seems inaccessible from the Research window. Shortcut CMD-D doesn’t seem to work either.
I had the same problem. Selecting multiple beats to apply actions. Only solution I found was to deal with them in selectable groups or individually. Fortunately, it’s not a problem I face often.
That was a choice we made way back when, to limit how things can be combined in a selection. We’ll have to think a bit, because there’s a chance this is satisfying some old requirement that isn’t relevant anymore. I mostly don’t bump into this problem, but it feels slightly annoying and unnecessary when I do.
I will play with this more. It seems that you are limiting some selection behavior that (at least) feels like it should work. (Perhaps though there are reasons for it not to work.)
