Feature Request - Changing Main Character name propagates to script

This could be a timesaver if you start off your script with a temporary character name just to get the ball rolling, but later decide on a more appropriate name.

An “are you sure you want to replace all the names in the script?” dialogue box would prevent any accidents.

Hi,

Yes, 100%.

What has stalled it has mostly been the triage of features, and obviously, nobody is dying from not having this, it’s just very, very annoying.

Another thing that has held it back is that this is the kind of thing we’d really like to use AI for. Along with Shot Designer 3D, which is a heavy AI user, we’ve made a credit-based billing system for micro-transactions, so that we can use AI more indiscriminately.

You’ll always be directly requesting AI, but we’d like to be able to round-trip the whole script through an LLM, not just to change characters, but to change locations, or props. Even just changing a name isn’t just a search and replace – it’ll be wrong in many cases, but with a language model, it’ll be right every time. It’ll also fix all the possessives and grammar around them. In Latin languages, words have gender, and this gender is also applied to the words around it. An LLM would fix this automatically, and text-processing is home base for a language model, it’s what it does very best.

But yes, absolutely.
