When I try to import an image, I get this error message: “No permission was granted to import an image.”
The issue seems to be that the app never asks for permission to access photos or folders.
In the app permissions, there is no option related to gallery, photos, or storage access, so I can’t grant it manually.
I’m on a recent Android version, which may be related to the new permission system.
Has anyone encountered this issue or found a workaround?
Also, does anyone know if there is a specific folder where background images should be placed so they can appear directly inside the app? I have a shooting tomorow
Also answered via email. It appears that this has been broken for a while, but the import feature is apparently rare enough on Android that nobody has reported it. It is indeed related to permissions.
There is an update in the pipeline due to a security issue in the underlying Unity frame that requires developers to make a new release. We’ll make sure you check up on permissions.
For now, you’ll be able to do this on the desktop version. That should at least get you through the shoot. Ping us via email if you need help getting a video feed into desktop, if that’s important. If this is about testing backgrounds, you’ll be able to get far simply by using the stock backgrounds in the app, because they will still reveal lighting issues. Finally, if you have access to an iOS device, where permissions work differently, we can help you get activated there.
